Midtown Miami Overview

December 17, 2015

What has essentially come the unofficial home of Art Basel, Midtown Miami has rapidly been transformed into a hustling and busting city center. The main Midtown development broke ground in 2005 transforming the FEC rail yard into a clean and safe area for recreation and retail. Midtown Miami continues to undergo massive amounts of construction as the area continues to grow with new buildings and businesses opening everyday.

Midtown Miami is wedged between the Florida East Coast Railway and I-95 and spans from North 29th St. to I-195. The project was originally planned as a large-scale urban development with 8 high-rise residential buildings, a hotel, 2 parks and The Shops at Midtown, consisting of shopping, recreation, dining and entertainment. The project would go on to crash 2 years later with only 2 residential buildings completed, but was reinvigorated in 2011 with plans to complete The Shops and continue with development of residential buildings. The Shops at Midtown are meant to simulate SOHO from New York. Art Basel has made its home right in Midtown Miami with Art Miami and Spectrum amongst other shows attracting visitors to the area from all over the world.

The completed residential buildings have become an attractive option for both buyers and renters alike due to the full-service market the area offers. Midtown currently is one of the few places in Miami where everything you could possibly need is in walking distance from your apartment. The area is also kept extremely safe and clean. Midtown 2 and Midtown 4 have been well received by the market and are very hot buildings to buy or rent. Both buildings take cues from New York's SOHO with a "Miami twist" and the pool decks create a popular urban oasis. Midtown Miami is definitely an area on the rise and worth looking into whether you are looking to buy an investment property, personal property or rent your next apartment.

Brickell City Centre

October 12, 2015

Ten years ago Miami was a vice driven beach city with high-potential. Fast-forward and Miami has transformed into a hustling metropolis. The rapid development coming to Downtown Miami does not stop with just Paramount Miami Worldcenter. Already under construction and nearing completion is the exciting Brickell City Centre, which will be Miami's largest mixed-use urban development.

Brickell City Centre will feature over 11 acres of retail, shopping, recreation, entertainment and living. A 500,000 sq ft climate controlled mall bridges the gap between indoor and outdoor shopping. Designed by Swire Properties, Simon Property Group and Whitman Family Development of Bal Harbour Shops, Brickell City Centre is sure to bring much needed cosmopolitan retail to Downtown Miami. Brickell City Centre will also include a CLIMATE RIBBON, which will allow for natural light while helping push breezes through the mall to keep shoppers comfortable.

Brickell City Centre will feature Rise and Reach, two condo buildings of its own, bringing about 780 units right to the new heart of Brickell. The towers are designed by Arquitectonica, who brought Miami the nearby Icon Brickell. Interiors will be by Richardson Sadeki and the buildings are LEED pre-certified. The residences have floor to ceiling glass windows, come fully furnished and have 48 bottle wine coolers complete in the kitchen. A half-acre amenity deck includes gardens, grilling areas, outdoor fitness, children's areas and pools complete with poolside beverage and cafe service. Keep an eye on this area as Brickell City Centre is sure to create some excitement in Brickell!

Revised plan for Lincoln Road released by James Corner Field Operations

September 30, 2015

Lincoln Road is starting to age and it is time to shake it up and make the shopping or recreational experience more enjoyable for all. James Corner Field Operations has been working on the redesign under close watch by the public and city alike. A revised plan for the Lincoln Road District Masterplan has been released by James Corner Field Operations.

The classic Miami styling and old-time charm of Lincoln Road do not appear to be lost. The revisions address the side streets, the Lincoln Lane North and South Alleys and redesigned sections of the road. Euclid Oval will now have a children's play area and an amphitheater. A "catwalk-style" fountain will run through the middle and renderings show that it can be turned into an actual catwalk for fashion shows, a great way to bring people and excitement back to Lincoln Road. There will also now be public "outdoor living rooms" featuring shaded recreational areas and areas specifically for table seating to help bring the congestion off of the sidewalks. The future for Lincoln Road appears to be bright as James Corner's plan continues to come together.
